UU parsing somewhat invented the Applicative style - it defined the
usual combinators from Control.Applicative (<$>), (<*>), (<*), (*>)
etc. but didn't have an 'Applicative' type class.
By obligation, I mean relying only on the Applicative class for the
derived operations, here manyTill, choice etc.
