All of the mailing lists accept subscription commands by mail to the
-request address.  The following should work on a GNU or Unix system.

  echo subscribe | mailx -s request bug-bash-request@xxxxxxx

Or alternatively you can use the Mailman web page:

  http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-bash
