by Milosz Derezynski (http://freshmeat.net/~queuerunner/)
Sun, Jul 9th 2006 04:08
About:
BMP is a media player that partially uses GTK+2 and partially uses a
skinned interface which supports Winamp 2.x compatible skins. It combines
efficiency with simplicity to enable users to perform tedious tasks with
ease. The primary goals of BMP are not lots of features, but usability and
effectiveness for handling music.
Changes:
The codebase was mostly rewritten to C++ and is using GTKmm now for the
GUI. Countless bugfixes in general have been made. The library backend and
frontend have been entirely redesigned. Stability of the playback backend
and GUI has been greatly improved. Most translations have been updated.
Shoutcast streams listing was adapted to the new Shoutcast XML API.
Support of HAL for detecting optical devices as well as watching files in
the library has been added.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements

Ever wonder why HP has seven consecutive years of Linux market share
Maybe it's our portfolio of best-of-breed partner products, or
HP value-add in management, high availability, and virtualization. Maybe
it's the integrated, consolidated infrastructure of HP BladeSystem,
single-source accountability and solution support from HP Services in 160
countries, or just our unwavering commitment to the open source
community.
