Below is a description of a crash that was experienced with 1.23.0 when
trying to tab complete the command âecho $â. Looking at the differences
between 1.23.0 and 1.23.1, I don't think the new release fixes it but
I'm unable to verify since I couldn't reproduce the bug.

Package: fish
Version: 1.23.0-6
Severity: important

If I type echo $<tab> as the first thing in a fish shell, it crashes.
Here's a little test demonstrating the problem:

[email protected] ~> bash
[email protected]:~$ echo $
[email protected]:~$ fish
Welcome to fish, the friendly interactive shell
Type help for instructions on how to use fish
[email protected] ~> echo $
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

A backtrace follows:
