Subject: Bug#460118: way to use stdin/stdout instead of dhclient-script
Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2008 20:43:50 +0100
User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.17 (2007-12-11)

Package: dhcp3-client
Version: 3.0.6.dfsg-1
Severity: wishlist

I am trying to use dhclient from netconf. This means that I don't
want dhclient-script to take care of configuration. Unfortunately,
the only way to do this right now seems with a dhclient-script which
prints to stdout and reads from stdin:

This is incredibly silly. Instead, it would rock if dhclient could
be told to simply spit its value pairs to stdout in e.g. rfc822
format, followed by a newline, then read back rfc822 format until it
gets a newline.
