Bug#273574: sound unable to be functioned under Gnome

Version: 2.4.3-5

The current version can't make sound in Gnome using OSS and ALSA other
than Esound. You have to run
$ esd&
$ stardict

this way, it can sound. 

I am using Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 unstable, kernel 2.4.26-1-k7 and libc6
2.3.2.ds1-16, as well as Gnome 2.6 and ALSA 1.0.5a-3
