Subject: Bug#274280: reportbug: smtptls option inconsistency between manpage and config file
From: Patrick Dreker
Date: Thu, 30 Sep 2004 21:10:51 +0200
Package: reportbug
Version: 2.99.3
Severity: normal

The manpage mentions, that all long options of reportbug are supported
in the configuration file, and that one should look into
/etc/reportbug.conf for a list of all available options.

Unfortunately in the config file, one has to use the option "smtptls"
instead of just "tls" (derived from the long option --tls), and in my
case the default config file /etc/reportbug.conf does not contain any
mention of "tls". I actually had to dive into the source code to find
out, how the option has to be called in the config file.

Either the documentation should reflect the real behaviour, or the
smtptls option should at least be documented in the default config file.
