Hello,

When starting MATLAB from the Dock icon or application icon, open the
Console Log application, which is located in /Applications/Utilities. If
you see an error regarding libtiff reported in the Console Log, this is a
new problem with Mac OS X 10.4.2 and MATLAB R14 SP3, which affects desktop
printing and copying figures.

This problem has the following workaround:

* Move or rename the libtiff library from your MATLAB71/bin/mac folder

This will enable Mac OS X to load the version of libtiff that is compatible
with Mac OS X 10.4.2's ImageIO framework when MATLAB is starting up.

If you are running MATLAB from an xterm with the -nodesktop option, the
libtiff error will be reported in the xterm window as MATLAB starts up. If
you run MATLAB with the -nojvm option, you will not see this error.

The workaround is not required if you do not see this error during startup.

If you are not experiencing the problem described here, but are experiencing
other problems with SP3, please report them as soon as possible. Thank you,

- Brian
