Description: Kforce IT Consulting has a client looking for a Database
Administrator III in Chicago. This person implements and maintains the DB
environment. The primary function is to monitor and maintain a production
Teradata database environment, including runtime optimization, capacity
management and planning, security, configuration, scheduling, and execution of
maintenance utilities. This person maintains user tables and permissions, and
trains Client DBAs on administering Client-specific solutions. The DBA is also
responsible for database recovery and restart as well as data and referential
integrity of the database. While this is typically an NCR or contract employee
at the beginning of an engagement, an employee from the Client Company may take
on this responsibility.
This position requires 2-3 years of related experience. Candidates must have
NCR UX (UNIX). Major NCR tools include Teradata WinDDI, Teradata Manager,
Teradata Query Manager, and Teradatas Priority Scheduler. Candidates must be
skilled in the following technologies: NCR, NCR-UX, Teradata SQL, and Teradata.
