This may be too controversial for this Group, but the following puzzles me.
Is there any Freeware software that allows BBC IPPlayer audio/video output
to be copied. I dont want to do it 'illegally'. It's just for educational
use for my fellow volunteers I work/with and support.
Audacity would I presume copy any audio output, but there seems to be no
combined Freeware resource that can copy BBC IPlayer's seemingly very
encrypted ouput. Why a Public Broadcaster needs to be so security minded
rather puzzles me, specially around documentary material.
There's a lot of information on the BBC web site. See:

Downloading programmes
The BBC iPlayer Download Manager only works on Windows XP (although not
64-bit versions) and Windows Vista within the UK. However, we are
working on versions for other operating systems.
Podcasts are not supported just yet, but we are working on this.

"Can I transfer downloaded programmes on to a blank DVD or CD to play in
my DVD player?"
"It is not possible to copy a downloaded programme onto a disc to play
in a stand-alone DVD player because the programme is DRM protected.
However, you can transfer programmes to a disc to use in another
computer as long as it is within the time period and the computer is in
the UK and can connect to the internet to acquire a licence."
