opportunity: Research Assistant, Bilingual Spanish-English
The
Research Assistant, under the general supervision of the Evaluation
Coordinator, will carry out data collection activities as a member of a team
evaluating community change in four Providence neighborhoods. The
Research Assistant will conduct interviews (in school or possibly in the home)
with parents of children in school-and agency- based programs, organize and
staff (approximately 4) focus groups, transcribe and translate interview data.
The Research Assistant will participate in qualitative/quantitative
analyses of data and will review relevant literature to gather information and
may participate in development of research protocols.
Requirements: Graduate student or degree in education, sociology, social work
or related field with previous qualitative/quantitative research experience.
Excellent English/Spanish interpersonal skills necessary. The ability to work
independently and maintain regular communication with consulting team a must.
Flexible schedule; car very helpful; some work from home possible.
10-15 hour per week position to begin May 2010 and currently funded
through November 2010. Competitive hourly rate and reimbursement of expenses;
no benefits.
