First Impressions
I have read that on average a user spends four seconds looking at a site
before deciding if it is worth their time. 

Try 2, in this case font / colors yuck.

Worst of all the font size bug in MSIE, you prevent all users of that
browser from altering the font size from View, and after the XHTML as
well, a big letdown.
