The addressbar allowed direct input of not just URLs, but local commands as well, and can be used as a quick starter for any program by name. Reason for the removal ... complaints from competitors due to the fact, that URLs entered here would always open IE and not the default browser. You can still keep the feature, when continuing to use browseui.dll from the SP2 (rename the file before adding SP3, then rename the new one and back the SP2 version). |
