Hello,

Running XP.

Have a new external HD (USB connection) that have finally gotten to be recognized by PC, and now works fine. Has an AC brick for power.

When it's running, I find that my PC is at least 25% slower than compared to when I disconnect the AC to it.

Use it only occasionally for backup and video storage.

Plugging and unplugging the AC brick is a bit of a pain.

Is there any "easy" way to have it AC powered off via some control right on the PC ?

Thanks,
Bob

Easy, USB controlled power strip.
