Compare specifications relative to your requirements, example being "dpi", the higher the figure the better the color reproduction of prints on photo quality paper etc. Research the cost of replacement ink cartridges for a specific brand/model etc. This is a continued source of income for printer manufacturers and cartridges can be very expensive. Check connectivity options. Most recent models will be USB2 but cheaper discontinued models may not be?
