Towards top right on page - "Scan Your PC With One"
Download - save to disk - run.
It will compare all your running processes with its data base. With
any that are unknown, click on that line item and it will give you
info such as associated DLLs, where launched from, authored, etc.
Another site but for single input:
http://www.what-process.com/lists.aspx
It's not a program, but if you reduce your browser to half screen and
put the task manager (alt-ctrl-del) on the other side, it's easy
enough to input the names into the .exe box (towards the top of page).
If you don't find some entries, and you cannot determine what they are
(such as programs running due to your ISP - example, mine are
slipcore.exe and slipgui.exe) do a search both web-wide and
newsgroup-wide to see if it's mentioned. If no luck, run HijackThis
and put results into
http://hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english
to determine if its been identified as potentially harmful.
If still not known, post the file name in newsgroup.
