The updating proceeds automatically and normally. I haven't done any manual updates on 7.5 except the one I did at the time I installed, because the install version was months old by that time. At that update, I didn't download anything to a folder, but let AVG do its own thing over the internet. In the past with the previous version, occasionally maybe one time out of 15, the system requested a reboot to finish an update. In the past with the previous version I also did one manual update because there was a discrepancy between the information at VirusTotal and what my system told me about a file [negative], and then that manual update gave me a fresh template and a positive result -- so the autoupdate was 'behind' what was achieved with the manual update and what was available at AVG information. Maybe you have something configured funky that is causing this rebooting/restarting requirement. -- Mike Easter |
