What hundreds of thousands?  He was convicted of  killing 142  Shites, he 
was hanged for that.

Conveniently there will now be no trial that might bring attention to the 
use of chemical weapons by Saddam whilst he was fighting a proxy war for the 
US against Iraq.  We will now never know the full extent of US involvement 
in the use of  weapons of mass destruction in the Iran/Iraq  war.
