You've provided a good tip, but is there some reason you didn't suggest an
alternative to the Windows Firewall rather than telling the OP to just turn
off the protection? Personally, I wouldn't rely on the Windows Firewall in
the first place. If he has a cable/dsl modem router in place with NAT, he's
probably okay (he should check the settings), or maybe his existing Internet
security software has a firewall installed (check to be sure it's enabled),
or he could download and install a free firewall solution (which is much
better than the Windows version in the first place.)
Just a friendly reminder that it's a good idea to consider the consequences
of the suggestions posted here.
