Have you tried unplugging the power to the scanner and plugging it in again?
I've got a 3200C that sometimes has similar problems and that's how I cure
it. Also check all leads are plugged in securely.
If there is a fault, the most likely culprit is that the scanner light tube
might have gone. Had that happen before where everything from the PC shows
up as fine but just wouldn't activate a scan.
