driver troubles and SATA 2 pgrade quary

hi im new to this site (was advised to visit for some help) i have a
imedia 1516 from packard bell (through another pc company) pc the comes
with an orion motherboard i am missing a driver "sm bus controller" and
when ever i connect my usb 2 devices windows tells me they are being
connected to a usb 1 hub and may run slow yet this is with direct
conection:S doe anyone know why this is and where to get this driver?

also i need to upgrade my hard drive as i am uing ide which is slow i
looked into SATA and found a SATA 2 drive cheap but dont know what
difference is and if my motherbaord is compaterble how can i find out
as there is no sie for my board except packark bells which is not
useful
