All,
Having an odd issue with my laptop...I have a Windows 2000 laptop
for work and recently started getting an Install box that pops up and
says "This system must be restarted to complete the installation.
Press the OK button to....". Anyway, when I do this, and it reboots, I
get the same dialog box. Funny thing is, this only happens when I am
logged onto my network at work. I do not get this error message if I
bootup from home.
When I do a ctrl-alt-delete and look in task manager, the program
controlling this dialog box is profback.exe. I can't find anything on
the internet related to this program and nothing is on my hard drive.
So I am assuming this has to do something with a script trying to be
run over the network? I have tried the various startup programs to see
if it is anything in my registry and it doesn't look to be. Any
thoughts?
